Beledi dokuması Türkiye'nin en eski pamuklu dokumalarından biridir. Temelleri 16. yüzyıla kadar dayanmaktadır. Tarihi kayıtlarda bu dokuma türüne Tire ve Bursa’da rastlanmaktadır. Bugün sadece Tire'de devam etmektedir.
Eldoku, Tire gezisinde bu harika dokumaları 5. kuşak olarak devam eden ve yeniden canlandırmaya çalışan genç Nurefşan Yaykal'ı ziyaret etti ve beledi dokumanın hikayesini ondan dinledi:

Pilavoğlu Han (shelter) was built in the 16th or 17th Century to host visitors in Ankara. Nowadays it is meeting point and workplace for artists and artisans.
You can find this historic place in Ulus, the oldest part of town, right across from the Koç Museum.
Huge wooden gates adorn both entrances of the structure and welcome visitors to stroll through the passage, lined with quaint little shops and workshops.

Sigacik is a suburb of Seferihisar/Izmir, situated at the Mediterranean coast. The harbour and the old city walls are approximately 2000 years old and date back to the Northern Harbour of the ancient town of Teos. The fortification was reconstructed and enhanced in 1521/22 by an order of Sultan Süleyman and carried out by Parlak Mustafa Pasa to facilitate the conquest of Rhode.

ELDOKU spent an extraordinary weekend, a very interesting and extremly productive experience, at the Open Air Museum YASAM KÖY (Living Village), close to Beypazari/ Macun Köy. The workshop took place under the leadership of the artist Veliye Marti.

Soap, soap, soap....
Bademler Soap
Did you know, that in the small village of Bademler soap is still produced by using the method of the very acient times and sold on the weekly market?
They use the ashes of an oak tree and pour water on top.
This brine is mixed with olive oil and the result is the soap on the picture.

Eldoku as well joined the colourful buzz of the local activities. At the weekly market in Bademler we met Fatih Alpgiray (www.eniyisielisi.com), a woodworker, whom we already knew from last year. Again he was selling wonderful pieces of turned wood and fine workmanship of wood.
